I fall back into nothingness.
There’s purple everywhere.
It feels like billowy, smooth softness.
The face of Oz appears and I die—
Toto pees on my carcass

I agree with elyse. What's going on with Toto and why would you mention it in your purple poem. But it does relate to "Oz" very nicely so I guess it's acceptable. Kinda funny and weird too. --matt koeppen--
ReplyDeleteI LIKE the last line. It's so unexpected. This is from the perspective of the Wicked Witch, right? She erupts in a cloud of purple smoke as she melts away, right? It's refreshing to see things from HER point of view (which explains the success of _Wicked_.). The fact that Toto URINATES on her remains? That just adds insult to her injury. Bottom line: Starbucks squirt from my nose when I read the conclusion to this poem. You can't argue with a Starbucks squirting-- that line has some sort of power.
