Nighttime waterfall
The water crashes down
Splashing heavily in the night
Neighboring animals scurry in fright
A lone eagle left to stare
Mesmerized by the waters dance
All alone with the crashing water
Haunted by memories past
It stands alone
Frozen in time
With nowhere else to go

I really like all the imagery you used, especially waters dance and how you tied the eagle and the waterfall.
ReplyDeleteThis poem paints a very clear picture in my mind when I read it.
ReplyDeleteI really love the ending of this poem. The beginning seems to be more about the water, and I like how it transitions from that to the eagle. The image of being "Frozen in time / with nowhere else to go" is very lonely, and gives the poem a haunting quality.
ReplyDeleteThis is great. It almost sounds like it could be a native american tale with all the signs of beauty and nature.
