Intimacy
Intimacy: You either have it, or you don’t.
Some say intimacy sounds like whispers over candle light.
It tastes like one spaghetti noodle being shared between two lovers.
It looks like two people holding hands in the park.
But real intimacy is something more than that.
It’s raw.
It’s real.
It’s something unlike anything you’ve ever experienced.
Intimacy can make you crazy.
The passion between you and your lover is strong.
And when that one great night is over,
intimacy smells like cigarette smoke clouding over your sweaty bodies.

I like the way the examples of intimacy build throughout the poem. Here's what I mean:
ReplyDeleteWhispers over candle light - sweet & innocent
Shared spaghetti noodle - comically cute
Holding hands in the park - innocent, simple
and THEN
Cigarette smoke clouding over sweaty bodies - yeeowza!
I love the effect this culmination has on the piece, it makes it feel like a budding relationship with room to grow.

This is very deep. I never would have thought you could write something like this that could paint such a vivid picture. It seems like you really know what you are talking about. The last line is definately my favorite because it is awesome symbolism.
